Chocolate Truffles Recipe

BLOGMAS- Day 8

Hello!
Today I decided to do a Christmas baking post. I'm going to share my recipe for chocolate truffles. These make a perfect Christmas gift for your family and friends who have a sweet tooth. They are also great to sell at Christmas markets or to hand around after lunch on Christmas day. You can make the truffles look really fancy by packaging them in cellophane or you could just put some in a box. They are perfect for Christmas.

Chocolate Truffles Recipe
These rich chocolate truffles are so indulgent. They are easy to make and are a perfect Christmas present. Be sure to store them in a cool place otherwise they might get a bit sticky! This recipe makes about 15 truffles.

Ingredients

  • 150g dark chocolate
  • 150ml double cream
  • 25g butter
  • Something to coat the truffles in, for example cocoa powder, chocolate strands, desiccated coconut or chopped nuts
Method
  1. Break up the chocolate into a small glass bowl. Add the butter and the cream, and heat up the mixture gently over a pan of simmering water. Be careful that the water doesn't touch the bowl. Stir the mixture until everything is melted and evenly combined
  2. Take the bowl off the saucepan and leave for a few minutes to cool
  3. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into a plastic container. Put the lid on the container and leave the chocolate mixture to set in the fridge for about 4 hours
  4. Take the container out of the fridge. The truffle mixture should be firm but mouldable. Roll small balls of the chocolate mixture in your hands and then roll them in your chosen topping. Be careful not to hold the truffles for too long otherwise they will melt! Expect to get your hands very chocolatey!
  5. Put the truffles in sweet cases and store in the fridge until you are ready to give them as a present! Enjoy!
I hope you will try out this recipe. The truffles taste so good and your friends and family will love them!
