Chocolate Brownies

Hello!
I am going to talk about chocolate brownies because we discovered a very good recipe a few days ago.

Almost everyone likes chocolate brownies and there are lots of different recipes for them. Some are dry, some are moist, some are nutty and some are fruity. Really good ones are irresistible. People like brownies in different ways. I quite like brownies moist. For me, a perfect brownie is a cakey outside with a gooey moist middle. The recipe that we discovered was a bit like this except that it has pecans in it. I thought that I would share the recipe to my readers. The recipe is from 'The Great British Bake Off Learn to Bake book'.

Squidgy Brownies
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Cut 200g unsalted butter into sticks and put in a saucepan. Use a rolling pin to bash up 100g dark chocolate (still in its wrapper) on the worktop, then tip the pieces into the saucepan.
  2. Set the pan on the lowest possible heat and leave the butter and chocolate to melt gently, stirring every minute or so with a wooden spoon. Take the pan off the heat as soon as the mixture is smooth, so it doesn't become too hot. Leave the pan on a heatproof surface until needed.
  3. Put 200g caster sugar and 4 room temperature eggs into the mixing bowl. Beat with the wire whisk or electric mixer for 2 minutes until thoroughly combined and the mixture is slightly frothy.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate into the bowl and whisk it in for a minute until you can no longer see any streaks of dark brown
  5. Sift 75g plain flour and 25g cocoa into the bowl. Stir into the chocolate mixture with a wooden spoon (there's no need to wash it). When everything is combined, stir in your extras- pecan or walnut pieces or chocolate chips
  6. Scrape the mixture into a prepared tin and spread it out, making sure it goes right into the corners. Gently bang the tin on the worktop to knock out pockets of air. Carefully place in the heated oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Test if the brownies are cooked by using the skewer test; if necessary, bake for 2 more minutes and check again. Wearing oven gloves, set the tin on the wire rack and leave to cool before cutting into squares. Store in an airtight container and eat within 5 days
The brownies were delicious and although I don't particularly like nuts, the addition was ok. I would give them an 8/10 because I didn't really like the nuts.

Bye!
