New Year!

Hello!
This entry of my blog is going to be about the new year. As it is now 2014, I am going to write about 2013. One of the biggest events in 2013 was the royal baby.

Prince George was born on the 22nd of July and everyone was talking about it. One of the most major discussions at the time was what the name of this royal baby would be. Although most people thought that the boy should have a name used before in the royal family history (William or Arthur for example), some opinions varied. There was a debate about possibly having a slightly more normal name as his mother, the duchess of Cambridge, was not originally a royal lady. However, Cate and William decided to stick with tradition and the infant became George Alexander Louis

Every new year more and more words are being invented and the words for 2014 are onesies and selfies. I have a onesie and I think they are a good idea but there are some bad points about them as well.
  1. When you go to the loo in the night, you have to take the whole thing off and you get a bit cold
  2. Some of them are really furry and fluffy so you get hot in bed
  3. Others have feet and that can mean your toes get very sweaty
Selfies are very popular in the U.K and for any of my readers who don't know what selfies are, they are when you take a photo of yourself. You do this by looking at the screen, pressing the camera button and having your photo taken by the camera on the side of the screen. There are lots of different types of selfies where you can have something done to the picture. You can have an X-ray, a colour picture or have your face pushed in some way. One of the most popular effects is kaleidoscope which is when your image splits up and makes a pattern.

Everyone hopes that 2014 will be a good year but will it? Some people think that 2014 will be unlucky because 2+0+1+4=7 and 7 is unlucky for some people. I don't think that has much truth in it though! I hope that 2014 will be lucky for all of my readers.

Until the next time,
Goodbye!
